An anthology of thirteen stories by the Turkish author Osman Şahin, the ´last of the Yörüks´, as he styles himself-a direct descendent of the nomadic tribes that plied the region of the Taurus Mountains in what is today southern and southeastern Turkey. The collection offers the reader varied and vivid insights into the traditions and folklore of the region, brought to life through the stirring narrative and poetic descriptions of Şahin.
